The following
chart shows just how different the ratios are. I personally
feel that the gear splits in a TH-700R4 are great for street
driven cars as long as you don't get too crazy with the rear
end gearing! Just go test drive a new Camaro or Corvette and
see if you don't agree that the lower first and second gears
in this transmission are really fun! These newer cars have
the 4L60E transmission, which have the exact same mechanical
gear ratios as the earlier Th-700R4's (AKA 4L60).
